Keep it up!

This is what you heard everywhere in Augusta when people were racing the Ironman 70.3 on Sunday 23rd. My birthday, though. I can not to describe with words the energy you could feel from everyone there.

We arrived there on Friday 21st. After 5 hours delay. And, our first  impression was that people is so kind. I know, southwest kind. Never seen it before. It’s a small town so the airport is too. Tiny building compared to LaGuardia. Well organized and cozy.

Taking a Uber XL wasn’t easy. So, we decided to take one of the cabs from the airport. This guy, was an angel, very happy to take and helped us out with a bike case. As soon we sat on the seats he started to ask us about the competition . And, told us how big and important an #ironman is for the them.

Since, more than 2000 triathletes +families were there. Most of the hotels were booked. For instance, the Marriot. It was full of good energy all weekend around. You could enjoy a beautiful landscape from there. And, take a look at the expo.

But, it is always a but. What I found very difficult to understand as a supporter crew was that most of the locals were closed too early even the Starbucks at the hotel was closed by 2pm. And, if you didn’t have any reservation at the restaurant, you wouldn’t have had a place to eat.

Even though they didn’t have a lot options to go, we could have a pretty good dinner in South Carolina. A little bit expensive but the food was really good. We took Uber, very easy and convenient.

Now, let me talk about the #ironmanagugusta703. The organization was impeccable. Since this was my first triathlon ever, I was a little bit lost about timing. Where to find my husband and all those details were my best friends that day LOL. But, guess what? Now you can track all your competitors on the #ironmanapp. Easy to use. You can see the map, time, predictions and more. So, thanks to this app I could meet my husband when he was swimming, biking and running. And for these moments I could take, as I consider, good pictures.

Thanks for joining me in this experience. We were very happy and wanted to show you all some pictures from that race.
